The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA), the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP), the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) are joining together to strongly support the Improving Care and Access to Nurses (ICAN) Act. We applaud the introduction of this legislation by Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA) and Rep. Dave Joyce (R-OH), which marks an important step in further recognizing the vital role advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) have in our nation’s health care system.
