A Message from Dr. Jerry Allison, Chair, NAMIHP Board of Directors

October 4, 2026
Dear NAMIHP Members,
As we kick off MIH Week 2026, I wanted to share our first quarterly update on the work underway across NAMIHP and where we are headed together.
Over the past several months, your Board has focused on strengthening the Association while asking an important question: How can NAMIHP provide greater value to our members and more effectively advance mobile integrated healthcare?
Your feedback has helped answer that question.
Our membership survey identified advocacy, education, communication, networking, and practical resources among your priorities. Each NAMIHP committee is now reviewing that feedback and bringing recommendations into our strategic planning process.
Here’s highlights and action of NAMIHP this quarter.
A More Engaged NAMIHP
We now have six active committees focused on Membership, Events, Advocacy, Finance, Governance, and Strategic Planning. Increasingly, these committees are where the work of the Association is developed, with the Board providing direction and oversight and our Executive Director, Victoria Reinhartz, PharmD, CPh coordinating execution.
You do not have to serve on the Board to participate. Members interested in joining a committee, volunteering, or contributing expertise are encouraged to contact Victoria.
Education and Sharing What Works
This month’s All-Member meeting included an excellent discussion with Steve Vincent on 1115 waivers and proposal development. We intend for this type of practical education to become routine, with monthly educational opportunities and member-program showcases.
If your program has developed an innovative clinical model, solved an operational challenge, built a successful partnership, or learned something others could use, we want to hear about it.
Advocacy and Payment Reform
Advocacy was one of the strongest priorities identified by our members.
The Board recently approved NAMIHP’s comments on national payment reform, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and appropriately reimbursing MIH care beyond traditional transport and hospital-based models.

Building for the Future
Behind the scenes, we have also strengthened NAMIHP’s financial and governance infrastructure, improved our committee structure, continued reviewing bylaws and policies, and begun development of our next strategic plan.
The next phase is about turning that stronger foundation into measurable member value: better education and resources, stronger advocacy, greater opportunities to connect and learn from one another, a successful MIH Week, and a strong 2027 Summit.
Thank you for being part of NAMIHP and for the work you are doing in your communities. I hope you will participate, share your ideas, and help us continue building an organization that represents and advances mobile integrated healthcare.
