Reflections on 2024 Milestones

Dear NAMIHP Members & Supporters,

As we start our first week of 2025, I am inspired by the remarkable progress our NAMIHP community has made in advancing Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) and Community Paramedicine (CP). Together, we have expanded our reach, deepened our impact, celebrated YOU-the core of MIH, and strengthened the foundation for even greater achievements in the years to come.

2024: A Year of Growth and Milestones

This year, your membership and our collective efforts have resulted in significant accomplishments that underscore the importance of MIH/CP in shaping the future of healthcare:

  • Membership Growth – Milestone Achieved!  NAMIHP saw a 31% increase in membership, bringing our vibrant community to representation in all 50 states. This growth highlights the increased recognition and value of MIH across EMS, Fire, health-systems, providers, and payors.
  • Affiliate Partnerships: With a 23% increase in state and affiliate partnerships, we now collaborate with 40 State EMS Offices and Peer Associations, enhancing alignment and collaboration nationally.
  • Presence and Representation: This year, we increased the presence of NAMIHP, hosting over 800 attendees across three MIH Summits! We also had representatives attending and presenting at 12 conferences and peer organization events, continuing to serve as a national partner in advocating for MIH initiatives.
  • Organizations Supporting MIH/CP: Congratulations to our members, we exceeded our annual goal, and your NAMIHP network now includes 340 organizations and agencies offering or supporting MIH/CP services. This is a testament to the growing recognition of the impact these programs bring to communities.
  • Recognition and Celebration: 2024 marked the launch of exciting new initiatives, including the MIH Advocacy Award and the NAEMT-NAMIHP Community Paramedic of the Year award. These programs celebrated outstanding contributions to MIH/CP. We also named the first ever National MIH Week Champions, highlighting the exceptional leaders and programs driving innovation in this space.

Organizational Focuses

We remain committed to strengthening our association’s leadership and expertise. In 2024, we prioritized adding members to our Board of Directors with extensive experience in nonprofit mobile integrated health, as well as the payor and provider healthcare spaces.

We established the Publications and Media Committee, the first ever MIH Research Forum, and also set the groundwork for important legislative and advocacy initiatives in 2025. This strategic focus ensures we have the vision and insight needed to navigate and influence a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

2025: Bold Focuses for Greater Impact

Looking ahead, our focus remains on advancing MIH through targeted initiatives:

  • Legislative and Advocacy Leadership: Expanding our advocacy presence and expertise to advocate for policies that sustain and grow MIH/CP programs, ensuring their continued success.
  • Demonstrating Collective Value: Supporting membership in launching MIH projects, publishing research, and highlighting MIH impact to allow teams across the country to reference successful initiatives.
  • Enhanced Tools and Resources: Building on initiatives like MIH Week, we will increase the number of tools, resources and educational opportunities to empower MIH/CP providers.
  • National Dataset Development: Support national partners and the most motivated MIH teams in strategic development of a minimum MIH/CP dataset, with the aim of providing actionable insights to support quality care and funding opportunities.

Call to Action: Join Us in Driving Change

Your engagement is critical to achieving these goals. Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Become a Member: Join a growing community of innovators dedicated to transforming healthcare. Gain access to resources, networking, and leadership opportunities.
  • Partner with Us: Collaborate on developing clinical tools, shaping legislative strategies, and advancing MIH/CP practices nationwide.
  • Get Involved: Join us in championing policies that elevate MIH/CP and promote sustainable, patient-centered healthcare delivery, and attend the NAMIHP MIH Summits to participate in projects aimed at moving MIH forward, together.

Let’s build on this momentum and continue collaboration to make 2025 even more impactful for MIH/CP professionals, programs, and the communities we serve.

My appreciation to each of you for the extraordinary things we’ve accomplished together in 2024, and a loud proclamation: the best is yet to come!
